The 3D GPR application to underground cavity / void detection

From the rupture of tap water pipeline, a city on the west side of a section of the road (pile No. 93K) found a large number of water gushing. Empty municipal units commissioned earth on the lower part of the pipe soil roadbed surrounding roads have been formed (the gap) and high aquifer were detected, in order to make a rational maintenance plan.

The detection results of ground penetrating radar

Earth using 3D-Radar 3D GPR on the road (empty voids) were detected, the results are as follows:

The affected section of the outer ring road, found the gap depth of 1.6 meters at the bottom. The inner ring road is relatively small gap.

The affected section of the outer ring road, 0.8m, 1.5m, 2.7m at the bottom of high aquifer, distributed in the tap water pipeline of about 20 meters range. High aquifer distribution of inner ring road 0.8m, 1.5m, 2.7m at the bottom of the tap water pipe around about 8 meters range.

  

  

<b> Earth expert advice</b>

The affected sections of the presence of dense gap and high water area. Once the high water area of water is lost, or may produce a lot of empty space, leading to the collapse of the road. It is recommended that the gap region of the upper part of the tap water pipe and high water area by grouting.
